Names Lockwood Outstanding Member
During the annual meeting of Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire & Rescue Company on June 4, George Lockwood, Jr, was honored with the companyâs Outstanding Member Award.
Mr Lockwood, who serves as an engineer for the fire department, has given nearly 20 years of dedicated service. In addition to being an engineer he has also served as assistant chief, and has been active on any committee he has been assigned to.
Before being presented with the award, Mr Lockwood was praised for his response to emergencies, which he does âday and night and ends up on the top ten list more times than not,â Chuck Kilson read from a statement before Mr Lockwoodâs name was announced as this yearâs honoree.
âThis individual is a firefighter, driver, and now an MRT for the company,â Mr Kilson continued. âThis member is always willing to lend a helping hand whether it is on the fire ground or off. This individual is a fantastic cook and always keeps us well fed!â
