Where Are All

The Butterflies?

REDDING — Have you noticed a lack of butterflies lately? Are environmental conditions or building and development affecting their populations? Here’s a chance to find out and ask questions of an expert.

On Saturday, August 23, from 10 am to noon, Norwalk River Watershed Association will offer a free program on butterflies and moths in the Norwalk River Watershed’s Ridgefield River Study site, 10 Simpaug Turnpike.

Victor DeMasi, a research affiliate for Yale’s Peabody Museum and a member of both the Redding Conservation Commission/Inland Wetlands Board and the Advisory Board of the Norwalk River Watershed Association, will lead the program, which will be appropriate for adults and children.  Participants should wear long pants and field footwear.

For registration or directions, participants should call 203-938-9016.
