They Are Listening

To the Editor:

Kudos to the Board of Selectman and the Legislative Council who showed they are listening to the voters. Last week, First Selectman Llodra proposed, and the BOS approved, a panel of nine for the Fairfield Hills Master Plan Review Committee. The qualifications used to choose the members were based on, among other attributes, the individual’s willingness to speak her/his mind, ability to work with others, and an openness to listen to other’s views.

The resulting group represents RTC, DTC, IPN, and unaffiliated voters. Thank you BOS for your hard work and for moving Newtown toward reconciliation regarding Fairfield Hills. Special thanks to Selectman Rodgers for specifically assuring that my request for a “politically-balanced” committee was addressed.

The LC also moved Newtown forward by listening to the many voters who requested that money be added to the BOE budget. Thank you! Voters, let’s reward the council’s hard work by voting Yes on June 8.
