School Board: More Dialogue

With The Community

To the Editor:

I would like to thank everyone for the warm reception as the new chair of the Board of Education. I look forward to working with my fellow board members, Dr Robinson, and the teachers of Newtown, and the community to establish open communication and transparency to the actions of the board.

In the next meeting we will continue to address board goals, which will align with the strategic plan, and to set actions plans and measurable outcomes into place. Subcommittees will be established to address these goals expeditiously.

I will also be working with the board to set dates for “Coffees with the Board” in order to create more opportunities for the board to have more dialogue with members of the community.

I would like to thank Laura Roche and Cody McCubbin for their willingness to serve as vice chair and secretary, respectively.

Our door is always open.
