Amadeus Virtuosi To Perform May 22
DANBURY â Amadeus Virtuosi of New York will present an evening of Viennese music on Saturday, May 22, at 8 pm, at WCSUâs Ives Concert Hall, 181 White Street. The performance, presented by Danbury Concert Association in cooperation with the universityâs music department, will be the closing concert of the associationâs 2003-04 season.
Amadeus Virtuosi of New Yorkâs members â a string quartet, piano and vocalists â have appeared as soloists worldwide, in major string ensembles, and with the worldâs premier orchestras. The groupâs repertoire includes works by Strauss, Lehar, Kreisler, Paganini, Rachmaninoff and Liszt, as well as classics from Mozart and Schubert.
Danbury Concert Association presents a series of four concerts in a fall and spring season. Admission is by subscription, at $32 per adult for all four concerts. Through a grant from Danbury Cultural Commission, those 18 and under are admitted free.
The series for the 2004-05 season will feature the pianist Andrew Armstrong, The Czech Nonet, The Jupiter Symphony Chamber players, and The McDermott Trio.
