Amadeus Virtuosi To Perform May 22

DANBURY —  Amadeus Virtuosi of New York will present an evening of Viennese music on Saturday, May 22, at 8 pm, at WCSU’s Ives Concert Hall, 181 White Street. The performance, presented by Danbury Concert Association in cooperation with the university’s music department, will be the closing concert of the association’s 2003-04 season.

Amadeus Virtuosi of New York’s members — a string quartet, piano and vocalists — have appeared as soloists worldwide, in major string ensembles, and with the world’s premier orchestras. The group’s repertoire includes works by Strauss, Lehar, Kreisler, Paganini, Rachmaninoff and Liszt, as well as classics from Mozart and Schubert.

Danbury Concert Association presents a series of four concerts in a fall and spring season. Admission is by subscription, at $32 per adult for all four concerts. Through a grant from Danbury Cultural Commission, those 18 and under are admitted free.

The series for the 2004-05 season will feature the pianist Andrew Armstrong, The Czech Nonet, The Jupiter Symphony Chamber players, and The McDermott Trio.

To welcome new subscribers, those who purchase memberships for the 2004-05 season will be admitted to the May 22 concert free. For additional information call 748-0522.
