Warrant
After learning that police held a warrant for his arrest, Don Zemo III, 39, of Woodbury went to the police station on July 8 to turn himself in, police said.
Police charged Zemo with failure to maintain automotive insurance. The charge stems from a May 12 motor vehicle accident at the intersection of South Main Street and Wasserman Way, police said.
After processing his arrest, police released Zemo on $100 bail for a July 20 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
South Main Collision
Motorist Doris Olsen, 41, of New Milford, who was driving a 1992 Mercury Grand Marquis northward on South Main Street about 1 pm July 1, slowed for traffic, and was then struck from behind by motorist Miriam Kokoszka, 35, of 12 Bayberry Drive, who was driving a 2001 Ford Windstar, police said.
There were no injuries. Police issued Kokoszka a written warning for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.
Mustang Into Rocks
Motorist John E. Stefan, Jr, 25, of Fairfield was driving a 1996 Ford Mustang eastward on Route 34, near Jordan Hill Road, about 1:11 am July 6, when while rounding a curve to the left, a deer appeared in the roadway, police said.
Stefan swerved to avoid the animal and the auto skidded off the right road shoulder, striking a rock outcrop, police said. The auto was heavily damaged. Stefan was not injured. Police verbally warned him for making an improper turn.
Echo Valley
Police report a two-car accident on Echo Valley Road about 1 pm July 7.
Motorist Morgan Haines, 20, of 40 Echo Valley Road, who was driving a 2000 Volkswagen Jetta, was exiting a driveway at that address in order to head westward on Echo Valley Road, as motorist Martha Bowerman, 49, of Danbury, who was driving a 1995 Saturn SL-2 sedan, was traveling eastward on the road, police said. The two vehicles then collided.
The Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps checked Haines at the scene for injuries, police said. Police issued Haines a written warning for failure to grant the right of way.
Engine Missing
Sometime between July 5 and 7, someone removed a 15-horsepower outboard engine from a boat that was docked on Lake Zoar at 51 Lakeview Terrace in the Cedarhurst section. Police are investigating the theft and ask anyone with information to contact them at their anonymous tip line at 270-8888.
Four MV Charges
On the night of July 10, motorist Peng Pengsy, 45, of Danbury did not stop for a stop sign on Glover Avenue at its intersection with Queen Street, police said.
Police said they stopped Pengsy to investigate and charged him with failure to obey a stop sign, driving while under suspension, driving without automotive insurance, and driving an unregistered vehicle.
After processing the arrest, police released Pengsy for a July 27 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
Evading Responsibility
Police said they received a report at about 12:08 am July 9 concerning a northbound vehicle that had struck some guardposts near 235 South Main Street and then continued traveling northward.
Police said they found the offending 1998 Honda Civic sedan with heavy front-end and right-side damage on Currituck Road and stopped it to investigate.
The motorist, Hersim Little, 39, of Naugatuck had struck four guardposts, police said. Police charged Little with making a restricted turn, evading responsibility, and failure to carry automotive insurance. Police said Little received a misdemeanor summons for a July 27 court appearance.
After processing the charges, Newtown police turned Little to Danbury police who held a warrant for Littleâs arrest in connection with another matter, Newtown police said.
Ford Vs Deer
Motorist Colin McNeil Curran, 18, of 44 Shepard Hill Road, who was driving a 2002 Ford southward on Walnut Tree Hill Road at about 4:30 pm July 9, encountered a deer that had run onto the road, police said. The Ford and the deer collided. Curran was not injured. Police took no enforcement action.
I-84 Collision
Motorist Albert Viglione, 39, of Clinton, who was driving a 2000 Daewoo sedan westward on Interstate 84 near Exit 9 at about 7:38 am on July 9, braked hard for traffic, and was struck from behind by motorist Lauren Lepore, 20, of Tuckahoe, N.Y., who was driving a 2000 Mazda sedan, state police said.
There were no injuries. State police said Lepore was following too closely.
Tractor-Trailer
State police report that tractor-trailer truck driver Julian Pruitt, 41, of Clarksville, Tenn., was driving eastward on Interstate 84, near Exit 11, about 3:25 pm July 7, when a state-owned grass mower, which was cutting grass on the highway median, kicked up a rock that struck the truck. State police did not identify the mower driver. Pruitt was not injured in the mishap.
I-84 Crash
State police report a two-vehicle accident on westbound Interstate 84 between Exits 11 and 10 about 9:26 am July 6.
Motorist Christopher Anderson, 42, of 148 Taunton Hill Road, who was driving a 2003 Honda Civic, drifted on the roadway and struck the rear end of a 1989 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera driven by Allen Fuchs, 55, of Bridgeport, state police said.
The Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps went to the accident for injuries received by Anderson and by Carmen Fuchs, 51, who was a passenger in the Oldsmobile, state police said.
Charges are pending, state police said.
Highway DUI
State police report that they pulled over motorist William Christensen, 23, of Naugatuck for failure to drive within the established lane on eastbound Interstate 84, near Exit 10, about 12:44 am on July 11.
State police said they gave Christensen sobriety tests, which he failed, after which they charged him with driving under the influence. Christensen was released on $500 bail for a July 19 court appearance.
Larceny Warrant
Newtown police said they charged Glenn Marco, 30, of Danbury on July 12 on an arrest warrant, lodging one count of third degree larceny by possession. Newtown police said Marco had been found to be in possession of stolen property that was taken on March 24 in a burglary on Hattertown Road.
That stolen property was found when Monroe police searched Marcoâs residence on April 8, Newtown police said. Newtown police arrested Marco at the Danbury Superior Court prisoner lockup where he was being held in connection with other charges. Marco was arraigned on the larceny by possession charge on July 12.
MV Charges
After learning that the registration on the vehicle that he was driving had expired, police stopped motorist Matthew Donnelly, 22, of Danbury on Mt Pleasant Road on July 12.
Police charged him with driving an unregistered vehicle, driving while under suspension, and driving without automotive insurance. Police said they released Donnelly for a July 26 court appearance.
Mailbox Damage
Sometime between 11 pm on July 12 and 6:53 am on July 13, someone damaged a mailbox at 15 Misty Vale Road, police said. Anyone with information on the vandalism is asked to contact police at 426-5841.
Motorcycle Accident
Police report a collision between a motorcycle and a sedan at the intersection of Currituck Road and Sunset Hill Road about 3:20 pm July 11.
Motorist Charles Fulkerson III, 18, of 8 Currituck Road, who was driving a 1999 Ford Taurus sedan, was stopped at a stop sign on Sunset Hill Road at its intersection with Currituck Road, police said.
At that time, motorcyclist William Brusca, Jr, 37, of 27 Forest Drive was traveling northward on Currituck Road, with Ashley Brusca, 9, of Danbury riding as a passenger on the motorcycle, police said.
The sedan then entered Currituck Road and the motorcycle drove into it, police said. Both people on the motorcycle were thrown from it by the impact, police said.
The Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps transported William Brusca and Ashley Brusca to Danbury Hospital to be treated for injuries, police said. Ambulance personnel checked Fulkerson at the scene, police said.
The accident is under investigation.

Patricia Lane
Police report they are investigating a burglary which occurred at a Patricia Lane home sometime between 6:45 am and 6 pm on July 13. Anyone with information on the crime is asked to contact police at 426-5841.
Head Oâ Meadow
Police said that they were called to the Head Oâ Meadow School grounds about 11:30 pm July 13 in response to the presence of a group of youths there.
Two streets signs, a mailbox, and three bottles of alcohol were found in a motor vehicle driven by Kyle Kling, 17, of 101 Huntingtown Road, according to police.
Police said they charged Kling with sixth degree larceny and with possession of alcohol by a minor. Kling was released on a promise to appear on those charges July 27 in Danbury Superior Court. Â
Police said they additionally issued Kling an administrative notice for possession of alcohol by a minor in a motor vehicle.
Swamp Road
Motorist Jean DiBartolo, 49, of Southbury, who was driving a 2002 Ford Escape, attempted to turn left from Swamp Road onto southbound South Main Street about 8:40 am July 13, as motorist Carlos DaSilva, 25, of New Milford was driving a 1995 Jeep Cherokee southward on South Main Street, police said.
The two vehicles then collided. There were no injuries. Police issued DiBartolo an infraction ticket for failure to grant the right of way at a stop sign.
Cherokee Vs Cherokee
Motorist Brian Leary, 48, of 100 Berkshire Road, who was driving a 2004 Jeep Cherokee northward on South Main Street near Route 302 about 11:40 am July 9, stopped for traffic and was struck from behind by motorist Kim Hoffkins, 47, of New Milford, who was driving a 2000 Jeep Cherokee, police said.
There were no injuries. Police issued Hoffkins an infraction ticket for following too closely.
Rear-Ender
Motorist Nancy Goodman, 53, of 31 Valley View Road, who was driving a 2004 Oldsmobile Silhouette, stopped at a stop sign on Boggs Hill Road at its intersection with Sugar Street on July 8, police said.
As a 2000 Pontiac Bonneville driven by Shirley Corte, 44, of Houston, Texas, was attempting to enter Sugar Street from Boggs Hill Road, the Pontiac struck the Oldsmobile from behind, police said. There were no injuries. Police said they issued Corte a written warning for failure to obey a stop sign.
