Newtown Mobil improved to 7-0 with a 70-48 pounding of Walsh Logging in The Gym at Newtown Women’s Basketball League.

Mobil broke open a two-point game in the second half behind Jen Kelly’s 10 points. She dropped in 22 for the game and pulled down 13 rebounds. Amy McPadden added 18 points, including 2 three pointers, and grabbed 10 rebounds. Lynn Yeager contributed 14 points and nine rebounds as Kelly Pinkney chipped in 12 points. For Walsh Logging, Jen Zdziarski scored 17 points and pulled down 11 rebounds while Tracey Paella added 13 points and five rebounds. Captain Joanne Duncanson chipped in 10 points.

Newtown Phone Book slipped past The Gym at Newtown, 61-55, as captain Maura Keenan poured in 26 points, grabbed nine rebounds and made six steals. Karen Powell added 14 points while Alex Heron dropped in 10 points and pulled down six rebounds. For The Gym, Jaime Murphy canned 26 points and grabbed six boards as Mel Darrah added 10 points.

Newtown Performance defeated Alpine Realty, 87-79, in an overtime thriller as Jess Minotti and Katie Abromovitch sewed up the game with clutch free throw shooting. Abromovitch ended up leading all shooters with 34 points, including a trio three pointers and rebounds. Minotti added 29 points as Jody Rajcula dropped in 19 points and pulled down 16 rebounds. Shelby Neveriski and Tori Anderton tossed in 23 points apiece and combined for 11 rebounds to lead Alpine Realty. Sarah Gersky added 19 points and pulled down six rebounds as Kelly Fengler chipped in 12 points.
