Master Chorale Announces Openings
The Connecticut Master Chorale, under the direction of Tina Johns Heidrich, is holding auditions for its upcoming 2007-08 season.
The Chorale will present its annual Holiday Prelude Concert in November at St Mary Church in Bethel.
In the spring, the Chorale will perform John Rutterâs new Winchester Te Deum, along with Gounodâs St Cecilia Mass and the Ben Hur Choral Suite in March, and then will perform Carl Orffâs Carmina Burana in May.
The spring concerts will be accompanied by the Connecticut Master Chorale Orchestra and will be at St Rose of Lima in Newtown.
Rehearsals are Tuesday evenings at the South Britain Congregational Church parish house in Southbury and begin September 4.
CMC is an ensemble of 55 high-caliber vocalists who reside across western Connecticut. In addition to its regular three-concert season, the chorale has performed at the White House, Carnegie Hall (three times), Madison Square Garden, and West Point Military Academy, all by invitation.
