Mother’s Circle:

Raising Children As Jews

SOUTHBURY — Are you in an interfaith marriage where you are not Jewish and your husband is but you want to raise your children as Jews? Do you want to meet other women in the same situation?

The Federation-Jewish Communities of Western Connecticut, Inc, is forming a Mother’s Circle to provide participants with the educational, communal, and emotional support they need. The group will consist of women who want to discuss the issues they face.

The group is being facilitated by a licensed clinical social worker who understands and is familiar with the joys and the problems of raising children in interfaith marriages.

The group will run for 14 two-hour sessions beginning Monday, October 15, and will include several family events. There is a nominal fee involved as well as a book fee. In order to maintain the integrity of the group, registration is required and all participants are asked to make a commitment to attend all the sessions.

This course promises to be fun as well as enlightening. The goals of the facilitator are to give support, provide educational as well as religious resources, and to connect participants with others who are in similar situations.

To register and for further information, call The Federation, Jewish Communities Of Western Connecticut, Inc, at  267-3177 and ask for Cynthia, extension 106.
