Stephen Mygodney
Stephen J. Mygodney, 92, of Fairfield, beloved husband of Gertrude Preg Mygodney, died peacefully April 15. Born January 5, 1926, and raised in Westport, he was the son of the late John and Anastasia Guida Mygodney. He lived in Westport and Fairfield for most of his life.
In addition to his loving wife of 63 years, Gert; his son, Stephen Emery Mygodney and his wife Heidi of Newtown; his grandchildren, Emery and Brianna Mygodney; his goddaughter, Regina Dearest; his many nieces and nephews; as well as several cousins survive him.
His three sisters and brother predeceased him.
Mr MygodneyÃÂ was a veteran of World War II and served in the United States Marine Corps in the Pacific Theater. He had worked for the Dictaphone Corporation for nearly 30 years. He also worked on the Hubbell Telescope project and most recently for the NAPA Auto parts of Norwalk for 17 years until his recent retirement. Mr Mygodney was a longtimeÃÂ parishioner of St Emery's Church and belonged to the VFW Post 399 of Westport. In his youth, he played semipro football and was an avid San Francisco 49'ers fan. He enjoyed gardening and loved animals. More than anything, Mr Mygodney enjoyed the times that he spent with his family.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, April 17, from 4 to 7 pm, in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, Fairfield Center.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 18, at 11 am, directly at St Emery's Church, 838 Kings Highway, Fairfield, with burial to follow in Mt Grove Cemetery, 2675 North Avenue, Bridgeport, with full military honors.
