Pick Up Some Trash For Earth Day

To the Editor:

Spring is a wonderful time for spring cleaning. In honor of Earth Day, which is celebrated on April 22, we would like to suggest that each person spend some time picking up trash along the sides of the road in front of their houses.

Trash left on the side of the road is a hazard to local wildlife, runs off into our storm drains polluting our local streams and rivers, and ruins the aesthetic beauty that is Newtown. Each of us should be able to spare 15 minutes to make our town more pleasant to live in. Let’s work together to make Newtown even more beautiful.
