Bach Aria Group Will Open Danbury Concert Association Season Sept. 23
DANBURY â The Bach Aria Group, the only musical organization in the world devoted exclusively to promoting the performance and study of Bachâs music, will perform on Sunday, September 23, in the first concert of Danbury Concert Associationsâ 2001-02 season.
The concert will take place at Ives Hall, at 181 White Street on the midtown campus of Western Connecticut State University. The performance will begin at 3 pm.
The Bach Aria Group will feature two vocalists â a soprano and bass â and four instrumentalists: violin, cello, flute and piano. The group will play Selections from the Notebook of Anna Magdalena Bach as well as a number of Bach arias, duets and trios.
Adult admission to all four of the seasonâs concerts is $32. New subscribers, who are always welcome, may purchase subscriptions at the door. Through a grant from the Danbury Cultural Commission, students age 18 and under are admitted free of charge. Guest tickets for those accompanying subscribers or students are $12, available at the door. A post-performance reception with the performers will take place following the concert.
