Young Life To Meet On Nov. 21

Parents of middle and high school age teens are invited to an informational meeting about Young Life on Friday, November 21, at 7:30 pm, in the community room at the C.H. Booth Library.

Young Life is a 60-year-old nondenominational national organization that recognizes that teens think the Christian religion is boring and out of touch with their lives. Each week, around the world, thousands of youths gather in homes or other locations to listen to their kind of music, laugh, and hear a message about God’s love and acceptance through Young Life “club” meetings.

Locally Southbury and Ridgefield have had Young Life programs in their communities for more than ten years. Several Newtown parents have been working to bring a Young Life program to town and are hosting the informational meeting about Young Life for parents and local clergy this Friday.

Darren and Diane Fountaine, Young Life leaders from Fairfield, will describe the Young Life philosophy of understanding and accepting teenagers as they are, and will share some of their experiences. For more information, contact Heather and Ken Law at 270-1120 or visit www.younglife.org.
