Bee Article Appreciated
Bee Article Appreciated
To the Editor:
On behalf of all the 2,300 citizens who have signed our petitions during the past five years, and the 1,350 who answered our polls, we want to thank the editor and staff of The Bee for the recent feature article reporting and explaining the position paper of the Friends of Fairfield Hills (July 2, 2004).
We extend a special âthank youâ to reporter Jan Howard who gave generously of her time during our interview and wrote a splendid review, distilling the essence of our vision for Fairfield Hills. Someday, future generations will applaud the efforts of those who seek to preserve and protect this magnificent campus from commercialization and housing.
In the best tradition of the free press, The Bee has enlightened its readers and helped them to gain more information and a greater understanding of the goals of the Friends of Fairfield Hills. While our website is not quite finished, readers will find more information there: www.friendsoffairfieldhills.org.
Our vision is clear: âTreat the earth well: it was not given to you by your parents; it is loaned to you by your children.â
Again, thanks to The Bee.
