The Newtown Forest Association will host an Earth Day Project focused on cleanup efforts on the Blue Trail of the Holcombe Preserve, located off of Great Hill Road. April 30 — Canine Advocates is in need of volunteers to help set up for the annual tag sale at 115 Mt Pleasant Road from 7 am to 9 am. A crew of volunteers is also needed for cleanup from 4 pm to 6 pm. Call 426-6540 or 426-4348.

The Newtown Lions Club is seeking volunteers to serve as road captains from 9 am to 1 pm. Call 364-1833.

May 13 — Newtown Social Services, 3 South Main Street. Volunteers 12 years of age and up are needed to sort food collected by the National Letter Carriers Association annual food drive. Call 270-4330 to volunteer.

Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities — The Newtown High School stadium snack shack needs volunteers for a variety of positions at home events. Call Dan Barrett at 270-1927 or 770-0925 to volunteer.
