Weather Washes Out Sobriety Checkpoint
Due to rainy conditions, police postponed the sobriety checkpoint that had been scheduled for the night of Saturday, August 19, and early morning hours of Sunday, April 20.
Police do not conduct such operations during inclement weather. Ten police officers and one supervisor staff such checkpoints
Each motorist traveling through such checkpoints are stopped and interviewed to determine if they are driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. Drivers found to be under the influence are arrested.
Police Chief Michael Kehoe said this week the checkpoint will be rescheduled.
