WEST PALM BEACH, FLA — The entire Lobby Level of the Crowne Plaza was overflowing with fine antiques from around the world January 18–20 at the 26th annual Palm Beach Winter Antiques Show. Throughout the weekend, enthusiastic crowds did not let up at the  show presented by Zita Waters Bell. A new floor plan was in evidence, which brought oohs and aahs and applause from the dealers as well as the guests.

The Francois Joseph Damier that appeared on the cover of the show’s brochure was sold early in the weekend, Olivier Fleury Inc of Malvern, Penn., sold a number of interesting items during preview while Zane Moss of New York City seemed to be the busiest Sunday afternoon.

For most of the furniture dealers the magic word was smalls and as the show opened, there was immediately one piece of furniture marked “sold.” Stellar antique statuary attracted attention.

Plans for the 2009 show, January 16–18 are in place and most said they will return.
