Tai Chi On The Terrace August 28
Tai Chi On The Terrace August 28
NEW HAVEN â Along with yoga, tai chi is one of the fastest growing fitness and health activities in the United States. Some practice tai chi for self-defense, some for its aesthetic appeal, and some for physical and mental health. Traditional stylists believe the two aspects of health and martial arts are linked, providing the yin and yang of tai chi chuan.
The public is invited to explore this ancient practice in a special introductory class on the Terrace overlooking Elm Street at the downtown branch of the New Haven Public Library on Thursday, August 28, from 5:30 to 6:30 pm. (In the event of rain, class will be held in the Program Room, lower level.)
Instruction will be provided by Kathleen Brenner.
Ms Brenner has studied tai chi for 19 years and has won several gold, silver, and bronze medals in international tai chi competitions. She has taught tai chi and Chi Kung to several hundred people of all ages over the last nine years.
The class is designed to suit a wide range of adults. Just wear comfortable clothes and flat shoes.
There is no charge and free parking is available. Registration is required at www.guidezilla.com/nhfpl or call 203-946-8835.
