The Memorable Midnight Mass

To the Editor:

Christmas Eve mass —Worshiper and Groupie, I’ve been meaning to write this letter for a year now and can’t believe its taken so long. I wanted to send a Thank You out to the St Rose Choir for the unbelievable performance at the “midnight” mass on Christmas Eve night.

They do a great job every year, but I’m very partial to one song, “O Holy Night,” and to me it is the song that kicks off the season officially. The man from the choir who sang this song had me awestruck. I’ve never heard a more beautiful and powerful rendition of that song, and I was half tempted to stand up and let out a whistle and yell that I only do at football games. It was amazing and it stuck with me for the year; that powerful. For that moment, there was no thought of where are those presents I bought in July, and do I have enough gifts for tomorrow; I was totally wrapped up in the true meaning of the season.

I hope everyone gets to experience this, not only this season but throughout the year. I’m not sure if I’ll make it to Connecticut this year for mass, but if someone is there and is hit the way I was, stand up and let out a “whoo hooo”! Thank you St Rose Choir for your continued dedication and talent throughout the year, and allowing us to be a worshiper and groupie all in one night.
