Economists: State Growth Slowing

STORRS (AP) — Economists at the University of Connecticut say the state’s economy has been growing faster than the US economy, but is expected to slow next year and in 2013.

The Connecticut Economic Outlook for November that was released November 18 says the state’s economy grew by nearly three percent this year. That is enough to increase employment by 6,000 jobs.

The economists at the Connecticut Center of Economic Analysis say the national economy grew by less than two percent this year.

They are forecasting economic growth in Connecticut next year slowing to a crawl of less than one percent.
