The Incredible International Egg

DERBY — On Saturday, April 14, from 1 pm to 3 pm, Kellogg Environmental Center will host “The Incredible Egg,” a program suitable for all ages and for anyone interested in understanding the diversity and design of eggs.

Participants will learn about the variety of colors, shapes, sizes, and textures found in eggs around the world. They will also explore the architecture of eggs and dye eggs using natural color sources.

A self-guided hike is included to encourage participants in looking for the variety of habitats needed to support the diverse life systems in Connecticut.

Participants are asked to bring six hard-boiled eggs with them to dye, and to dress for the weather. Registration is required and a donation of $1 per person is suggested.

To register, call 203-734-2513. The center is at 500 Hawthorne Avenue (Route 34) in Derby.
