Award-Winning Painter To Offer Free Water Media Program
The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown will have Robert Noreika demonstrating in water media on Wednesday, June 23, at 1:30 pm. The meeting is open to the public and will be at Newtown Meeting House, 31 Main Street in Newtown (at the flagpole).
Mr Noreika is a prominent watercolorist and illustrator whose paintings hang in many corporate and private collections throughout the US, Europe and Japan. His technical expertise was featured in Artistâs Magazine in April 1998. He is a member of Connecticut Watercolor Society and The Salmagundi Club in New York City.
Mr Noriekaâs subjects are varied, including expressive costal scenes and intimate woodland and countryside pictorials. He has a studio and gallery in the Farmington Valley Arts Center in Avon, where he teaches. In addition he lectures and teaches throughout New England, where he is represented in numerous galleries. He has illustrated several childrenâs books and magazine articles.
In the morning of June 23 SCAN will hold a life drawing session with a professional model. This will also be held at the meeting house. The time is 9:30 am until 12:30 pm.
This session is also open to the public and the fee is $7. Participants should bring sketch material or paints. There will be approximately ten poses varying from five-minute to 20-minute poses. It is not necessary to call ahead.
