Diabetes Educator Discusses Back To Basics Of Good Nutrition

DANBURY — The Diabetes Club of Danbury, a support group for people with diabetes, their families and friends, features a monthly guest speakers program at Danbury Hospital. The next meeting of the Diabetes Club of Danbury takes place on Monday, September 20, from 7:30 to 9 pm. Featured guest speaker is Linda Martinez, a registered dietician and certified diabetes educator from the Endocrine & Diabetes Center of Western Connecticut.

Ms Martinez will discuss “Back to Basics — Good Nutrition the Cornerstone of Diabetes Management.”

Support group meetings take place in the back of the cafeteria on the third floor South Building from 7:30 to 9 pm. The goal of the free monthly programs is to provide continuous up-to-date information and education regarding the day-to-day management of diabetes. Robert Ruxin, MD, an internal medicine specialist with the Danbury Hospital Department of Medicine, serves as the medical director of the Diabetes Club of Danbury.
