Bird Walk

DERBY — For anyone who enjoys watching birds, Maria Stockmal will lead a relaxing Saturday morning walk in search of local birds at the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection’s (DEP’s) Kellogg Environmental Center.

Participants can experience the joy of observing birds in the wild, sharpen bird identification skills, or just enjoy a Saturday morning hike through the grounds of the Kellogg Environmental Center and Osbornedale State Park. The walk is scheduled for Saturday, September 29. It will begin at 8 am and last up to two hours, depending on conditions.

Meet in the front parking lot of the Kellogg Environmental Center at 8 am to begin. All levels of birders are encouraged to participate.

The programs is free to the public, and preregistration is required. For more information or to register, call the Kellogg Environmental Center 734-2513 between 9 am and 4:30 pm Tuesday through Saturday.

Kellogg Environmental Center is at 500 Hawthorne Avenue (off Route 34).
