FRICK COLLECTION HOSTS MARCH 19 TALK
AVV 12-17 #722812
NEW YORK CITY â The Frick Collection will present a lecture, âParmigianino and Portraits,â Wednesday, March 19, at 6 pm, given by David Ekserdjian, professor of history of art and film, University of Leicester.
In conjunction with the exhibit âParmigianinoâs Antea: A Beautiful Artifice,â on view through April 27, this free lecture will place the Antea within the larger context of Parmigianinoâs portraits, focusing on the surprising number of discoveries that recently have been made in this area.
Parmigianino was one of the most prolific and remarkable portraitists active in Italy during the first half of the Sixteenth Century. Presentation of this free lecture is made possible by the Italian Cultural Institute of New York.
Seating is limited and unreserved. The Frick Collection is at 1 East 70th Street, near Fifth Avenue. For information, www.frick.org or 212-288-0700.
