The Connecticut Master Chorale, under the direction of Tina Johns Heidrich, is holding auditions for its upcoming concert season.
CMC is an ensemble of 55 high-caliber singers who perform three major concerts each year, with orchestral accompaniment, in the greater Danbury area. Ms Heidrich is the groupâs music director and conductor as well as its founder. Joseph Jacovino is its accompanist.
The Chorale will present its annual Holiday Prelude Concert in November at St. Mary Church in Bethel. The concert will feature music with steel drums and brass ensemble, spirituals, gospel, multi-cultural numbers, lullabies, a unique medley of carols, and other festive selections.
The Choraleâs March concert will include a new composition, âStabat Materâ by Karl Jenkins.
The Chorale will present its tenth anniversary concert in May which will feature highlights from its ten-year history.
Both March and May concerts will be held at St Rose of Lima Church in Newtown and be accompanied by the Connecticut Master Chorale Orchestra.
Rehearsals begin in September and take place on Tuesday evenings at eh South Britain Congregational Church House, at the corner of Route 172 and East Flat Hill Rod in Southbury.
