Being Planned

Meghan Rice, one of the homeowners who will open her house for the walking tour during the Holiday Festival in a few weeks, is looking for some help from the public.

Ms Rice would like to hear from soldiers who have recently returned from service, or friends and family of troops who are currently deployed, because she is planning a Soldiers’ Tree. Ms Rice will have one Christmas tree in her home on the day of the Holiday Festival that will host photos and information about all of Newtown’s soldiers. The tree will of course have a patriotic theme, and Ms Rice has already received a donation of seven sashes from Vineyard Vines to use on the tree.

“I would like to honor all of our town’s service men and women,” she said, “but I need a little help finding everyone.”
