Rick Swenson

A private interment service will be held August 18 at the Old Main Street Cemetery in New London, N.H., for Rick Swenson, 59, who died July 5 at the family home at Little Lake Sunapee in Springfield after a prolonged illness. He was the brother of Carol Foss of Sandy Hook.

Born in Evanston, Ill., Mr Swenson attended the Darien schools and graduated from the King School in Stamford. He graduated from the University of Denver in 1966 and was self-employed for many years in the railroad products industry. An avid hiker and skier, he was a volunteer member of the National Ski Patrol system for 22 years at various western ski areas.

He moved to New Hampshire in 1996 and lived in the Springfield-Sunapee area until his death.

Mr Swenson also is survived by two nephews, David Foss of Fairfield and Edward Foss of Pepperell, Mass., and by his brother-in-law, Charles Foss of Sandy Hook.
