State police said that they went to Garner Correctional Institution, the stateâs high security prison at 50 Nunnawauk Road, at about 5:38 pm on September 13 in response to a report of an inmate having assaulted a correction officer.
State police said that after investigating, they charged Garner inmate Christopher Schuetz, 23, with disorderly conduct and with three counts of first-degree assault on a Department of Correction employee. The three assault charges are felonies.
Schuetz was arraigned on the four charges on September 14 in Danbury Superior Court. He pleaded not guilty to all charges and is scheduled to return to court on October 5.
Schuetz is serving a four-month sentence in Garner on a conviction for violation of probation or conditional discharge.
