Organizers of Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire & Rescue’s 28th Annual George & Timothy Powell Golf Tournament announce that there are still openings for players and sponsors.

The tournament, which serves as a fundraiser for the company, will be on Monday, September 28. It will be played Newtown Country Club, 1 Country Club Road.

Registration is $125 per golfer. This includes breakfast at the Sandy Hook Fire & Rescue main station at 7:30 am, then 18 holes of golf with a cart, and dinner at the country club, including three-hour open bar (beer and wine).

There will also be trophies and cash prizes, and a raffle with many different items up for bid. Golf will start promptly at 9 am with a “siren” start, rain or shine. A scramble format will be used.

Registration forms are available at the Sandy Hook main station, 18-20 Riverside Road. They are also available through the company’s website, sandyhookfire.com.

For further information, contact Golf Tournament Committee member Tim Whelan, 203-364-6618.
