Police Add A Patrolman
The Police Commission has hired a Danbury man to become the police departmentâs 42nd sworn officer of its authorized complement of 43 officers.
Commission members have hired Andrew Stinson, 25, to start work July 23. Mr Stinson will be sworn into office at 10 am July 24 in ceremonies in the Town Hall So. conference room.
Mr Stinson, who is married, has worked as an investigator for the state Department of Children and Families. He has a bachelorâs degree in psychology from Western Connecticut State University.
 Mr Stinson will attend the Connecticut Municipal Police Academy in Meriden starting in August, after which he will return to Newtown for local training, before assuming his patrol duties independently.
