Free Lecture Series Focusing On Low Back Conditions

Do you suffer from low back pain? You’re not alone!

Low back pain affects more than 80 percent of adults at some point in their lives — many chronically — and that in many instances it was preventable.

According to Cody Foss, owner of the Fitness Loft and host of a free community lecture series on health conditions, years of poor posture, poor body mechanics, and a weak core can lead to chronic back pain.

“Tight hip flexor muscles, weak gluteal muscles, and past injuries to your ankles, knees, hips, and even shoulders can also contribute,” Mr Foss said in a release.

Presenters Randy Trowbridge, MD, a physiatrist for Team Rehab, who also holds a master’s in exercise science and is a nutritional expert, will join Mr Foss for the talk October 31 at 10:30 am in The Fitness Loft on Simm Lane.

The public is invited to attend this comprehensive lecture on low back conditions. Learn the many causes of back pain, how to prevent it, and the best treatment options for existing conditions — with a major stress on nonsurgical intervention.

Also, learn to address the root of lower back pain, not just the symptoms.

“By reeducating your body, you can restore muscle balance and proper joint motion which can rid you of pain, improve your strength, balance, and overall quality of life,” Mr Foss said.

The next lecture in this free community health series is set for November 21, and will examine ACL injury prevention

All lectures commence at 10:30 am at The Fitness Loft. Anyone planning to attend is asked to sign up by calling 304-1400 or emailing a reservation request to info@thefitnessloft.org. Learn more at www.thefitnessloft.org.
