NVCC Hosts Digital Arts Conference

WATERBURY — Annesa Hartman, manager of the Technology Learning Center at Landmark College in Vermont, will be the featured speaker at the third annual Digital Arts and Multimedia Technologies Conference, “Frontiers in Digital Imaging,” on Thursday, April 15, at Naugatuck Valley Community College.

Sponsored by NVCC’s Multimedia Artists Association and the Digital Arts and Multimedia Technologies department, the event will take place in the Fine Arts Center, Mainstage Theatre, and Leever Atrium. The conference will feature exhibits and live musical performances from 7 to 8 pm, followed by Hartman’s talk from 8 to 9. Admission is free.

Ms Hartman, author of Producing Interactive Television, was formerly the director and Softimage instructor for Mesmer Animation Labs in Seattle, Wash. She is also the co-founder and consultant for Sway Design, Incorporated in New York. Specializing in graphic art production, corporate training, online learning, and curriculum development, Ms Hartman has developed and taught unique training programs for Accenture, Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, AOL/Moviefone, and Macromedia. She holds a master’s degree in education with Internet technologies.

At Landmark College, Ms Hartman coordinates and instructs technology teaching and learning programs for the college’s faculty, staff, and students. She also teaches computer graphic courses online.

NVCC offers an associates degree in digital arts technology, with options in audio/video, graphics/animation and multimedia/web authoring, and an associate’s degree in fine arts with a multimedia technology option. NVCC also offers a certificate in multimedia technology.
