Everett Condit of Sandy Hook has received a Henry Barnard Award from the Connecticut State University System Foundation in recognition of his outstanding academic and community achievements. He is a technology education major and will graduate this month.
Mr Condit won seven scholarships while at CCSU and is a member of Epsilon Pi Tau, the technology honor society. He is also a member of the Technology Education Collegiate Association, the New England Association of Technology Teachers, and the International Technology Education Association.
Elizabeth Glaser, a senior majoring in nursing at the University of Rochester, has been named to the deanâs list for academic achievement for the fall 2000 semester. Miss Glaser is a graduate of Newtown High School and is a resident of Newtown.
Jessica Schlier, daughter of Brian and Dorothy Schlier of Newtown, was published in the 2001 Journal of the American Chemical Society Volume 123. Miss Schlier is a senior at Wesleyan University, majoring in chemistry.
She also recently participated in the 221st National Meeting of the American Chemical Society in San Diego. At the undergraduate research poster session, she provided a poster presentation of her Connecticut College Summer research about the kinetics of thermal isomerization.
Courtney Steele, a post-graduate at St Thomas More School in Oakdale, has earned a place on the honor roll for the recently completed third marking period of the academic year. Mr Steele is the son of Gary and Mona Steele of Newtown.
