KENT ART ASSOCIATION GALLERY TO HOLD STUDENT ART SHOW MARCH 10–17

KENT, CONN. — The gallery at the Kent Art Association (KAA) announces its 12th annual secondary school student show, the first exhibition of the 2007 year — its 84th year celebrating fine art.

Art teachers from more than 25 regional secondary schools, both public and private, have been invited to enter their students in the show, March 10–11, and 16–17. The gallery will be open from 12 to 4 pm. On opening day, March 10, awards will be presented at 2 pm and refreshments will be served.

Prizes of $25 and honorable mention awards of a special one-year student membership to The Gallery at KAA in each of the following categories, oil/acrylic; watercolor; pastels, drawing; mixed media; photograph; and sculpture will be given. This year two special awards of $50 each will be given in memory of Lewis Wendover, an honored member of KAA.

The show will be judged by Bridget Herbst, award-winning pastelist and Bill Rorick, award-winning portraitist, both KAA members. Past president Connie Horton and Davia Fink the Association’s executive director, will coordinate all activities.
