Kent Art Association Preparing For 85th Season
KENT â The Kent Art Association, located at 21 South Main Street (Route 7, south of the monument), will begin its 85th season with a membersâ show from March 16 to April 13. On display will be more than 100 paintings in oils, watercolors, pastels, and graphics as well as sculpture in various mediums. This year, non-representational work will also be included in the show. All of the works will be for sale.
Artists can become members at receiving, which will take place at the gallery on Saturday, March 15, from 10 am to 2 pm. Entry fee is $20 for members for up to two pieces. Five cash awards will be given.
Judges for this show are Ellen Esposito, Deborah Flavin and Barbara Masterson. The show chairperson is Bridget Herbst and her co-chair is Tarryl Gabel.
Member benefits include entry into two non-juried shows annually, reduced entry fees for all shows, ability to display two small works at all shows, have five portfolio pieces in the gallery at all times, display art work on KAAâs website, have a link on the KAA website to the artistâs website, and participate in KAAâs new Petite & Grande Sale.
The opening reception for the membersâ show is scheduled for Friday, March 28 from 5 to 7 pm. Five cash awards will be presented at the awards reception on Saturday, March 29, at 3 pm, and refreshments will be served that afternoon from 2 to 4 pm. Everyone is welcome.
