Grace Mather Voight
Grace Mather Voight, 80, died April 22. Born on November 11, 1923, in Newtown, Grace was a resident of Bridgeport for 35 years, and before that lived in Stratford for 16 years.
Grace attended Newtown High School and graduated in 1941. She worked as a quality control specialist for Nichols Engineering, Norden/United Technologies, and Data Products, until she retired at age 65.
Grace was an admired ceramic artist and continued painting until her passing. She also enjoyed bowling, traveling, gardening, bird watching, and observing nature in her backyard. She was outgoing, friendly, and enjoyed the company of many friends and family.
She is survived by her children, Penny Longway of Bridgeport, Danny A. Williams of Monroe, and Sandra L. Jacobson and Linda A. Winkler, both of Stratford. She had ten grandchildren: Shayne Jacobson, Tracey Longway, Terry Tirado, Raven Kmec, Carri Longway, R-Jay Longway, Chrisann Longway, Brendan Winkler, Marisa Daniels, and Matthew Winkler. She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held in May.
