Thomas W. Martin, 79, of Nunnawauk Meadows, and previously of Monroe, a retired assistant vice president of the Connecticut Bank and Trust Company (formerly the State National Bank), died January 18. He was born in Hamden, May 6, 1930, to Ruth (Doolittle) and Thomas E. Martin.
Mr Martin was a Newtown resident for many years. A graduate of Stamford High School and the Williams College School of Banking, he worked for the Connecticut Bank and Trust Company and State National bank for 36 years prior to his retirement.
He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the First Armored Division Presidential Honor Guard Band at Fort Hood Texas, and was a past member of the Musicians Union 626 in Stamford, and past member of the Norwalk Symphony.
Mr Martin was a former member of the Branford Trolley Museum and New Haven Railroad Historical Society.
He was the beloved husband of the late Gladys Evelyn Martin, and was predeceased by his brothers Edward, Robert, and Billy, and sister Doris. He is survived by many loving nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Funeral services were scheduled for Friday, January 22, at 11 am, in Trinity Episcopal Church, Newtown. Interment with military honors will take place at 2 pm, Friday, January 22, in Long Ridge Union Cemetery, Stamford. Friends may call at Trinity Church Friday morning from 10 to 11 am.
 Funeral arrangements are in the care of the Honan Funeral Home, Newtown.
