Town Clerk Cindy Curtis Simon advises Newtown voters that absentee ballots are now available for the Republican and Democratic Presidential Preference Primaries to be held in Newtown on March 7.
Any qualified registered Republican or Democratic voter may vote absentee if unable to vote in person due to illness or physical disability; absentee from town during voting hours; religious beliefs which forbid secular activity; active US military service; or service as an election official at a polling place other than his/her own polling place.
Applications for absentee ballots are available at the town clerkâs office and may be obtained in person at the office or by calling the town clerkâs office. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm. Special hours for absentee voting will be held on Saturday, March 4, from 9 am to noon at the town clerkâs office at 45 Main Street in Edmond Town Hall.
