Landscape Painting For Young Artists

DANBURY — Wooster Community Art Center (WCAC) is offering a “Studio & Landscape Painting” workshop for young artists ages 9-13 on Saturdays, October 28, November 4, 11 and 18. The class will run from 1-3 pm each week, and is open to all levels of students.

Instructor Maura O’Shea will discuss the techniques used by Impressionist painters to create light-filled landscape paintings. Students will use a variety of materials including oils, pastels and pencil to develop their skills in observation, color mixing, composition and drawing.

The class fee is $75 per person, and all materials are included in these fees. Pre-registration is required to reserve a place.

Ms O’Shea has taught at The Mattatuck Museum in Waterbury, The Museum of American Art in New Britain and in schools throughout Connecticut and the San Francisco Bay area.
