WILTON â The American Cancer Society is currently seeking nominees to be considered for its Courage Award, recognizing an outstanding individual who exemplifies the societyâs mission: to eliminate cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy and service.
The Courage Award recognizes a cancer patient who serves as a role model due to his or her personal strength and courage in combating cancer and the multitude of issues surrounding the disease. The recipient of this award will be honored at the southwestern Connecticut regionsâs annual recognition dinner on September 11 at the Amber Room in Danbury.
