Coliform Returns To

Middle Gate Water System

At the last meeting of the Board of Education on February 15, Superintendent of Schools Evan Pitkoff reported that the latest state-mandated test of the Middle Gate Elementary School water system had come back positive for coliform.

He was quick to note that the finding does not affect anyone at the school because for the past year and a half Middle Gate has been operating exclusively on bottled water.

“I am happy to know that the implementation of the Middle Gate waterline was approved and is happening,” said Dr Pitkoff. The $500,000 project, in which Middle Gate will be connected to a public water supply, will commence this summer.
