Vivaldi Concertos At Music Mountain, June 17

LAKEVILLE â The Hanoverian Ensemble will perform an evening of six Vivaldi instrumental concertos as one of the first concerts of the 2000 season at Music Mountain. The performance will be on Saturday, June 17, and will begin at 8 pm.
Artist-members of the Hanoverian Ensemble include such distinguished performers as John Solum, flute; Richard Wyton, flute and recorder; Linda Skernick, harpsichord; Judson Griffin, Marka Young and Mary Hoyt, violins; Monica Gerard, viola; Arthur Fiacco, cello; Jay Elfenbein, violone; and Thomas Sefcovic, bassoon.
The all-Vivaldi program will be as follows: Concerto in C Major for two flutes, Concerto in D Major for violin, Concerto in B-flat Major (âLa Notteâ) for bassoon, Concerto in F Major for recorder, Concerto in E minor for violin, and Concerto in D Major (âII Gardellinoâ) for flute.
The Hanoverian Ensemble specializes in historical performances on period instruments. The groupâs performances reflect the many decades of concert and recording experience by the individual members of the ensemble. The groupâs name evokes the time of the Hanoverian kings of England, circa 1714 to 1837.
