Cal Ripken Tourney At Glander Field This Weekend

Newtown’s 11-year-old 50/70 baseball team will host Cal Ripken State Tournament action at Glander Field, beginning this weekend. The tournament will include teams from Brookfield, Danbury, New Milford, and New Canaan. Games will run all day Saturday and Sunday, July 23 and 24, beginning at 10 am, and will be held during the following week, at night.

The snack shack will be serving hot food with a donation from the Meathouse. Local people will be celebrated during all Newtown games.

The winner will advance to the regional tournament in August, in New Milford. Newtown is coached by Tom Harrison and includes players: Adam Beckett, Lucas O’Brien, Adam Bergeron, Ryan Kost, Dylan Champagne, Sam Grossano, Ben Dieckman, Will Huegi, Connor Barrett, Jason Hebner, Colby Olson, and Ben Harrison.
