Author Justin Scott Speaks Tuesday On Adventure Writing
Local thriller and mystery writer Justin Scott will present a talk at the Cyrenius H. Booth Library on Tuesday, May 18, at 7 pm.
The presentation titled âTreasure Island: Clueless Narrator, Charming Villain, Bodies Galoreâ¦So Whatâs New?â was rescheduled after a previous library presentation in March had to be cancelled at the last minute due to bad weather.
Mr Scott will not only be analyzing plot development as illustrated in Robert Louis Stevensonâs classic adventure story, he will discuss his own novel by the same name, in which he set the familiar story of piracy and treasure hunting on the high seas in a contemporary mode.
He will also discuss his most recent works, the popular Ben Abbott series of four mysteries set in the fictional town of Newbury. These books feature familiar Newtown landmarks and include some rather colorful characters, who might or might not have been drawn from local personalities.
The public is invited to come and find out how this very successful, best-selling local author views his craft and draws inspiration from other writers. The talk and book signing will take place in the public meeting room. Call the library at 426-4533 to reserve a place.
