Supporting The Firefighters

To the Editor:

On behalf of the members of the Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire & Rescue Co Inc, we would like to take the opportunity to thank The Firehouse Restaurant and Bar and Sandy Hook Wine and Liquor for providing us with dinner in memorial of September 11. We would especially like to thank the owners of the two businesses, the Barilarries and Mike Kerler. We appreciate your continued support to the firehouse and our members.

We would also like to thank the community members for supporting the firehouse during our recent fund drive. The citizens of Sandy Hook and Newtown continually prove that this is a great place to live.

The fire department will be holding our open house on Sunday, October 3, from 11 am to 3 pm. This will kickoff the Fire Prevention Week and we will follow with visits to the local schools. Please stop by the firehouse for demonstrations, safety information, and free food and beverages. We hope to see everyone there. Thank you again to everyone for helping us.
