The Unitarian Universalist Congregation holds two Sunday services, at 9 and 11 am, in Alumni Hall on the campus of Western Connecticut State University.On Sunday, September 19 Rev Linda Hansen will lead “UU Beginnings —It Ain’t Necessarily So.” As the Religious Education program begins its focus on UU Identity this year, there will be an exploration of related topics in services throughout the year and in the “Chalice Circle” program that will be introduced on September 19. Ira Gershwin’s words, both Universalists and Unitarians had their beginnings in realizing “It Ain’t Necessarily So” that the established religious wisdom of their time wasn’t the last word. Congregant Doug Miller will perform the song. Member of the pilot Chalice Circles group will be introduced and the congregation will have an opporunity to sign up for one of the four groups beginning this month. All Religious Education classes for prefirst through 9th grades meet during the 9:00 service, while the High School Youth Group meets at 11. Nursery care is available during both services.
