WSO Concert Will Feature ‘Phantom’ Star Davis Gaines

WATERBURY — Waterbury Symphony Orchestra (WSO) and music director and conductor Leif Bjaland will present the final concert of the 2005-06 season on  Saturday, April 29, at 8 pm, at Palace Theater.

The program will feature a salute to Broadway with guest artist Davis Gaines. Mr Gaines performed the title role in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera more than 2,000 times on Broadway, as well as in Los Angeles and San Francisco.

He has appeared in three PBS Great Performances broadcasts and sung for five US Presidents and with every major symphony orchestra in North America, including The New York Pops at Carnegie Hall and Hollywood Bowl Orchestra at Hollywood Bowl.

Tickets range from $25 to $75; students $10 and $35. Group discounts are available.
