Love & Knishes Lunches

SOUTHBURY — Music is the highlight of the two remaining Love & Knishes Lunch Programs this month.

Area adults aged 60 and over are invited to enjoy lunch and entertainment on Tuesdays at the Love & Knishes Lunch Program of the Federation-Jewish Communities of Western Connecticut. Programs take place in the social hall at the Walzer Family Jewish Community Campus, 444 Main Street North. The food is freshly prepared each week by personal chef Heather Bingham and features healthful, delicious meals with everything from salad through dessert. Lunch is served at noon and programs start at 1.

Lunch reservations should be made by Friday for the following week. There is a suggested lunch donation of $5.50. To RSVP, call Debby Horowitz, Brownstein Jewish Family Service Director, at 267-3177, extension 105.

On November 21, singer and guitarist Larry Ayce will return for “A Tribute to the ‘50s and 60s, Part III.” He will play his way through these wonderful decades of diversity with music by Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, the Everly Brothers, Nat King Cole, Elvis, the Beatles, and more. Larry Ayce is always happy to honor requests from the audience, too.

Then on November 28, pianist Leslie Merwin will offer a lovely classical concert of “Music of the Night,” which will include Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata, Grieg’s nocturnes, and music by Schumann and Chopin.
