Planning & Planting A Culinary Herb Garden
Nancy Moore will present âPlanning and Planting the Culinary Herb Gardenâ for The Garden Club of Newtown on Tuesday, January 23, at 1 pm, in the Olga Knoepke Memorial Room of Cyrenius H. Booth Library. The public is invited, free of charge.
A Master Gardener as well as an organic grower, Ms Moore is the owner of Moorefield Herb Farm in Trumbull. She is the market master of Trumbull Farmers Market and also sells her herbs at other local farmers markets. She is a former chairman of the Connecticut Unit of the Herb Society of America, and serves on the board of the Merritt Parkway Conservancy.
Residents of Newtown in the late 70s and early 80s may remember her business in the Chase Building on Main Street, The Ordinary Limited, which sold herbs and spices as well as coffees and teas.
Ms Moore will have garden plans for growing culinary herbs and will discuss them in depth as a part of her presentation. She will focus on all areas of the culinary herb garden from finding a site and planting to harvesting the herbs.
Registration is not necessary. For more information, however, call 270-1108.
